We are delighted to have Shirley Prakke do a trunk show for our September meeting. Shirley has lived most of her life in South Africa with the exception of several years in Venezuela. She and her husband moved to Vancouver 2 years ago to be closer to their Canadian children and grandchildren. Shirley started quilting in the 1980’s but, has always had a passion for all forms of needlework, colour and pattern. She enjoys hand work with a particular enthusiasm for paper piecing and Mola appliqué. She has taught courses in basics to advanced patchwork, appliqué, mola appliqué and quilting. A blue ribbon winner at our quilt show this year, she is truly one of the guild’s hidden treasures! I think you will find her quilts both unique and inspiring.
Upcoming programs include an amazing trunk show by Carola Russell in October and the return of the popular “Garage Sale – Craft Fair” for November.
