The November social was so much fun – the potluck delicious and the company even better. Judging from how quickly the English Paper Piecing templates and fabric supplies vanished, the North Shore was brighter by many fabric stars this holiday season. We had six quilts and a large bag of hexagons (!) on display for the Inspiration Challenge. Chocolate prizes were awarded. Thank you to everyone who participated.
PhDs – Registration now closed
We had 49 additional PhDs registered and the start of what I’m sure will be a flood of completed quilts for Show and Tell. Be sure to bring your quilt to the Programs table after Show and Tell to check off that it was completed and give the measurements. You’ve got until our May meeting to bring your in finished PhDs– prizes will be awarded at the June meeting.
Row-By-Row Mystery Quilt
Twelve more people signed up for Dianne Ritter’s Row-by-Row Mystery Quilt. If you still want to register, please go to the programs table to sign up. If you do not manage to sign up at the January meeting you will have to contact Dianne directly. I’m looking forward to getting the first row from her this month.
We have a full lineup of speakers and programs for spring and fall of 2017 and welcome suggestions for 2018.
January: Barb Mortell – Colour Trunk Show
Many of us have taken one of Barb’s workshops, with some fortunate enough to have attended her colour classes. January’s program will bring us a little of both with a refresher in the use of colour through Barb’s own work. Barb asked that members who have taken her colour classes in the past to bring their quilts for a special Show and Tell during her talk. Please contact Betty Clarke if you have any questions. http://www.barbmortell.ca/blog/
