The ‘House Top Quilt’ is an easy introduction to freedom piecing; it’s a good way to find out if improvisational piecing is for you. Using the familiar Log Cabin as a basis, we experiment with colour relationships and design basics like line, shape and repetition. The quilters of Gee’s Bend use the House Top design to make quilts that are unique and varied. Come explore the simplicity and complexity of the House Top.
