Hi all,
I’ve ordered some new selections in the library … hopefully they will all arrive before the meeting!
There don’t seem to be any new Christmas quilting books published this year, but I’ve ordered one that some of you may be familiar with, from a couple of years ago: Pretty in Patchwork: Holidays: 30+ Seasonal Patchwork Projects to Piece, Stitch, and Love. It’s a collection of Christmas projects compiled by John Q. Adams (Quilt Dad), and includes quilts, home dec and gift items.
Also on their way are: Moda All-Stars All in a Row is a collection of patterns for rows that can be used as table runners or wall-hangings, or combined into a row quilt. It includes cute pieced, appliquéd and embellished rows.
In Modern Roots, Bill Volckening updates 12 vintage quilts. Directions are given for the vintage quilts and the modern updates. (And Krista Hennebury made one of the modern quilts!)
Striking Strip Quilts: 16 Amazing Patterns for 2 1/2″-Strip Lovers is another book of great designs for “jelly roll” quilts. (This one is on hold for the guild member who requested it.)
Kaffe Fassett’s Quilts in Italy – more great colourful quilts, photographed in beautiful settings in Italy.
The Quilt Block Cookbook: 50 Block Recipes, 7 Sample Quilts, Endless Possibilities by Amy Gibson – this is a sampler book, with some great new block designs and settings.
