2016 Quilt Show Wrap-up

Thanks to your amazing quilts and the tireless work of 100+ volunteers our 2016 Quilt Show was a smashing success.

While I don’t have all of the final numbers as yet, I do know that our boutique had record sales and we exceeded the number of visitors we had to our last show. Krista, our boutique coordinator is in Ontario at present volunteering at the National Show and keeping an eye on the beautiful quilts she had juried in. As soon as she returns we can close the books and give a full report at the June meeting.

In the mean time I want to thank each and every person who entered a quilt, volunteered their time, erected a lawn sign, put a poster in their car window or gave tickets to friends and family. Our show is, and always has been the result of a group of committed people who love the art of quilting wanting to share their creations. Well done you!

A few reminders for the June meeting:

  • If you won a ribbon, viewer’s choice, challenge or committee, please bring your quilt for show and tell.
  • Did you volunteer? If so your name has been entered to win a volunteer prize. The draw will take place at the June meeting but you must be there to win.
  • A stainless water bottle with a black top and red logo was left at the Sportsplex. If it belongs to you please pick it up at this meeting or arrange for a friend to do so. I won’t be bringing it back in September so this is your chance to claim it.
  • Cheques for boutique sales will be available as well. If you cannot attend this meeting, please arrange for a friend to collect your cheque. Otherwise they will be available at the September meeting.
